Before you jump into a Project Management role, it is critical that you stop and focus on how you will track YOUR MANAGEMENT of the project. How will you ensure that you are performing at your best? How will you stay out of the weeds and ensure that the overall objectives are being met? At times, Project Managers can get so caught up on what is being delivered on a day to day basis and tracking the schedule, issues, etc., that they forget to focus on how everyone will stay informed and periodically look back at the big picture and ensure that the overall goals and KPIs of the project are always in sight. A rear-view mirror is a must!
