Diversity matters: a mighty force awaits

By Angela Troy, CEO and Founder

To level the playing field for women and diverse-owned businesses, they first must be able to successfully compete for opportunities and build long-term relationships. This requires corporations to practice inclusive supply chain practices. But why should they? I believe that balancing a highly skilled workforce from all communities, races, and ethnicities brings innovation, a range of perspectives, and objectivity to the workplace. To that end, we at Troy Consulting have consistently increased our diversity workforce with a commitment to >50% diversity.  One key factor has been our ability to hire consultants from across the nation based on our clients’ support of remote consulting services.

You must give to grow

I wholeheartedly believe that giving back promotes a sense of purpose and fulfillment and can influence the world tomorrow.  Serving as a University of Washington Foster School of Business Professional Advisor for the Business Management Consulting Program is a valued and fulfilling opportunity to give back to our community.  Not only can we contribute to the learning and growth of student consulting teams, but we can also help to enable small businesses in Seattle’s economically distressed communities to expand.  Troy Consulting’s promise is ‘Enabling Your Success’ and we will continue to maintain that focus for our consultants, clients, and our community.

A vision and shining example of DE&I

Microsoft has been a terrific partner to Troy Consulting and many other suppliers with its vision of helping to drive diversity into their supply chain. I was honored to share our firm’s perspective in Microsoft’s Racial Equity Initiative: Engaging Our Ecosystem Report 2021 (page 21). And, my team was thrilled to receive Microsoft’s Supplier Prestige Award where we won the Diverse Supplier of the Year recognition, highlighted here in Microsoft’s press release.

Focused on longevity and quality

I want my team to feel something special for all the hard work, dedication, and commitment that they put into Troy Consulting. Some of our consultants have been on the team for as long as 15 years, and I am proud of these amazing relationships. I value every member of my team and the high-quality work that they provide for all our clients – it is our consultants that make our business what it is today. As to our clients, we are committed to understanding your mission, vision, goals, and challenges, while respecting your culture and values. We are excited to continue to reinforce your diversity goals and initiatives by bringing the cultural awareness and sensitivity sought to support your key initiatives.
